Description
Dapple Down House Nursery have an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Apprentice to join their friendly team. The apprenticeship will allow the right person to develop and expand their skills and knowledge whilst working in the childcare sector and gain a nationally recognised level 2 or 3 level childcare qualification.
You will be responsible for:
Assisting with the care and education of all the children in the setting under the guidance of the qualified and experienced practitioners.
Ensuring that all the children are kept safe, healthy, and happy, enjoying a range of stimulating learning experiences.
KEY TASKS
• Work towards completing a recognisable childcare qualification (level 2 or level 3)
• To achieve good quality interaction with children, taking account of their age and stage of development.
• To be aware that, through play, a child explores understanding, new experiences and needs to ask questions.
As an apprentice you will be included on a Children’s and Young Peoples Workforce Qualification, this will involve a Vocational Coach visiting you on a monthly basis observing you whilst you work.

•A good working knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding policies would be an advantage. •Good communication skills and a high level of written and spoken English is essential.
GSCE English and Maths C or above is an advantage but not essential as training to this level will be provided.
Level 2 Children and Young People’s Workforce Apprenticeship
Each framework includes a diploma/certificate which shows the practical skills, a technical certificate to confirm the knowledge and understanding and Functional Skills in Maths and English.
You will be assessed throughout the apprenticeship and complete the qualification based on the competencies within your job role.
You will be assessed by a combination of observations, professional discussion, question and answer sessions and self-study which is required to confirm your knowledge and understanding of the career route you have chosen.
The role will include providing care for children’s personal routines, i.e. personal care, speaking to parents, writing observation reports, contribute with planning for children’s learning and play activities.
This is a great opportunity to get a start in the childcare sector. This is a one year contract that could become an permanent role within out setting once the completion of the apprenticeship.
