Description

We are looking for a friendly, polite and presentable Marketing Apprentice to assist us with our marketing needs.

You will be covering a wide variety of tasks including:

  • Maintain and update the company website
  • Monitor SEO and web reporting
  • Update the company social media accounts
  • Draft and send newsletters
  • Maintain stocks of print collateral and order as necessary
  • Create and order signage
  • Support the sales team during boat shows
  • Organise internal events and give support with external events
  • Coordinate product photography and videography
  • Liaise with the local community regarding sponsorship and support
  • Organise and order branded goods
  • Submit entries for award and competitions
  • Maintain advertising and PR schedules

You will be reporting to the Operations Director, who is our Marketing Manager and very experienced and qualified in Marketing. She will support and encourage you to be confident and to use your initiative. You need to be flexible and willing to learn, with good writing skills and accurate spelling and grammar.

End Assessment:

Apprentices will collate a portfolio of evidence from work projects. Once this portfolio demonstrates all requirements of the programme they will complete the end point assessment. This must be a minimum of 12 months after the start of the programme.

The end point assessment is made up of the following elements:

  • Project - giving the apprentice the opportunity to undertake a business-related project over a one-week period away from the day to day workplace
  • An employer reference
  • A structured interview with an assessor - exploring what has been produced in the portfolio and the project as well as looking at how it has been produced

  • Written communication: applies a good level of written communication skills for a range of audiences and digital platforms and with regard to the sensitivity of communication
  • Research: analyses and contributes information on the digital environment to inform short and long term digital communications strategies and campaigns
  • Technologies: recommends and applies effective, secure and appropriate solutions using a wide variety of digital technologies and tools over a range of platforms and user interfaces to achieve marketing objectives
  • Data: reviews, monitors and analyses online activity and provides recommendations and insights to others
  • Customer service: responds efficiently to enquiries using online and social media platforms
  • Problem solving: applies structured techniques to problem solving, and analyses problems and resolves issues across avariety of digital platforms
  • Analysis: understands and creates basic analytical dashboards using appropriate digital tools
  • Implementation: builds and implements digital campaigns across a variety of digital media platforms
  • Applies at least two of the following specialist areas: search marketing, search engine optimisation, e mail marketing, web analytics and metrics, mobile apps and Pay-Per-Click
  • Uses digital tools effectively
  • Digital analytics: measures and evaluates the success of digital marketing activities

On successful completion of the apprenticeship there is a possibility of a job role.
Working times are Monday to Thursday - 8am till 5.30pm and Friday 8am till 3.30pm. Cockwells is enrolled with a pension scheme with contributions both from the company and the employee. There is an option to opt out. Occasional weekend work may be required when attending events such as boat shows. You will be able to bank this time to take off in lieu at a later date.
