Description
Elmlodge Care Home has a fantastic Apprenticeship opportunity available for an individual who is interested in a career in the Care industry.
As a Care Assistant, you will be in the centre of the everyday lives of the residents, and have a vital role in the care home. This position is very rewarding and requires you to have a friendly personality with a willingness to help others.
Your tasks will include;
To provide personal care and attention to each resident, and to follow the, activities of daily living in accordance with the plan of care.
Assisting with personal hygiene, supporting residents with meal times etc.
You will look after elderly patients
To undertake all duties in relation to the wellbeing of residents, by ensuring the delivery of the highest possible standards of care in a professional manner.
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Health & Social Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills, a kind heart and a willingness to learn, as well as being enthusiastic and passionate about the care environment.
None specific, but a passion for caring for people is essential, must complete Maths and English Functional Skills to start Apprenticeship.
Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.

There is potential for a permanent position at the end of the Apprenticeship and a career with Byker Hall Care Home. On successful completion of the Apprenticeship you will receive a nationally recognised qualification in Health & Social Care. Site might increase wage after 3 month review.
