We are looking for a candidate to join Cherie Blair Foundation for Women's team, as their new Membership and Events apprentice. The Apprentice will also be the first point of contact for the Partnerships department and work with the Director of Partnerships to provide support to the department on a range of tasks as required.

Detailed Job Description

Located near Edgeware Road Tube Station

The role:

To accelerate growth in income and partnerships across a diversified range of income streams, thereby achieving long term, sustainable income growth for the Foundation, increasing our impact for women entrepreneurs

Roles and responsibilities:

1. Membership and Events Support:

  • Support the Senior Partnerships Manager with donor cultivation and prospecting activity – undertaking research, setting meetings, support follow-up
  • Support the Senior Partnership Manager, Individuals to explore new opportunities and organise specific events
  • Provide administrative and practical support around the delivery of membership events – researching venues, developing running orders, etc.
  • Process donations from both online and offline sources ensuring procedures are followed and the information is recorded correctly onto the database
  • Ensure the database is kept accurate and up-to-date by recording changes including mailing preferences, address details and financial information• Support on data selections for activities - recording contact histories, source codes, etc.
  • Assist in researching, planning and booking travel arrangements and logistics for overseas trips and/orevents, liaising with other team members when needed to ensure a smooth flow of communication
  • Support in preparing presentations or documents for external and internal meetings
  • Liaise with our external financial provider on incoming queries, escalating as necessary

2. General Administration

  • Provide support to the department on a range of administrative tasks including, dealing with enquires (postal, telephone, email, social media)
  • Act as a point of call for the partnership department and ad hoc queries
  • Support the Director in team meetings, taking minutes and creating action lists
  • Support the department to create light tough effective processes across the team and with other departments as gaps and needs arise
  • Work with volunteers, arranging work for them and supporting them as needed
  • Be flexible and adaptable and available to take on other tasks as requested by members of the Partnership team

Working hours: 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary: £17,000

Apprenticeship duration: 18 months

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

  • Five GCSE grades C – A* (or 4-9), including Maths and English
  • Good knowledge of IT packages e.g Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Sheets etc

Skills required

  • Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organised and able to juggle multiple priorities at the same time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Excellent customer service skills – ideally with some previous customer service experience

Personal Qualities

  • High levels of professionalism, initiative, energy, creativity and flexibility• High attention to detail and able to work independently and within a team when needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Previous experience in an administration role and of an office environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive, proactive approach to work and a good team player
  • Ability to project the vision of the Foundation• Patience with a sense of humour
  • Interest, knowledge and experience of charities and in particular international development and or women’s rights

Future prospects

After your Business Administration apprenticeship progress into:

  • HR, Recruitment,
  • Sales, Marketing & PR,
  • Real Estate,
  • Personal Assistant,
  • Office Management,
  • Business Management.

Most of the above can be completed in a higher-level qualification.

Training provided

  1. Training on the 18 month Standard Level 3 Business Administrator (BA3) apprenticeship.
