We are looking for an apprentice, to work 30 hours per week on a rota basis between the hours of 8am till 6pm. During this time you will work as a member of the nursery team, showing initiative and creativity to foster an environment which encourages the children's all round development.

Detailed Job Description

  • Maintain a safe secure environment for all of the children and ensure that the emotional, social, intellectual and physical needs of the children are met
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to, seek advice and report any issues to Senior members of staff and adhere to all staff rotas and breaks
  • Keep records of work, and plan and carry out observations and able to follow the Early Years Foundation stage framework, being responsible for your key children’s recording and development.
  • Keep accurate up to date records of observations and activities to be age appropriate and challenging. Next steps are to clearly be identified, use the EYFS book when gathering information to support all evidence
  • Demonstrate commitment to personal development, attend all staff meetings and participate in training evening/days
  • Be fully prepared for supervision and or reviews. Ensure that any concerns or further action support is addressed
  • To ensure that health and safety is maintained at all times, including completing daily risk assessments
  • To be fully aware of the Nursery Safeguarding Policies and procedure, having a great understanding of how to report a concern and where to seek contact numbers from as well as identifying signs and symptoms

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Good standard of Maths and English

Skills required

  • Some experience of working with children aged 0-5
  • Some experience of providing personal care to children and recognising their individual needs
  • Common sense with regard to issues of health and safety
  • Above all, patience, kindness and a love of children, accompanied by a willingness to learn

Personal Qualities

  • You should have good communication skills
  • Be confidence working with children.
