Description

This role will assist the media team in delivering high quality media coverage across broadcast and print, help to develop content for the Nesta Podcast and support the team in an administrative capacity - producing media reports and briefings, logging coverage and other tasks. Specifically this role will: Contribute to press releases and other written content, and contacting media Work with the media team to maintain media distribution lists and send out press releases Provide administrative support for the media team including processing and keeping track of invoices Monitor media coverage and forward relevant articles to teams across Nesta Create reports and analyses of media coverage for internal use Handle and route incoming media enquiries to relevant team members Participate in creative and planning sessions Conduct research to support media planning Upload releases to the press section of the Nesta website Edit media articles and opinion pieces from Nesta staff Work in partnership with our Digital and Events teams and with projects and programme teams to plan and arrange recordings for Nesta’s Podcast.

Excellent communication skills – specifically the ability to express complex ideas in both written and verbal forms Attention to detail and ability to problem-solve effectively Interest in media, news and current affairs Excellent organisational skills – able to work in a busy team, able to multi-task whilst working to tight deadlines. Interest in learning about production of podcasts Ability to learn systems (e.g. databases) quickly Proficiency of Microsoft Office and Google suites. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise / negotiate with people at all levels Can quickly grasp complex issues and ideas and analyse environments.
5 x GCSE (or equivalent) at grades A-C(9-4) including Maths and English Language.
Business Administrator standard Level 3Approximately 3% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 17% is done in the workplace, through workplace units, face-to-face meetings with your QA Assessor, or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity.
A self-starter prepared to roll their sleeves up and help with whatever task is thrown at them and who thrives on being a team player. Shows energy and enthusiasm in everything they do and is flexible and adaptable.
92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
