Description

The role will include all normal yard duties. Amount of riding will be based on experience but competency and confidence hacking out and exercising fit competition horses is required. Attitude, a sense of humour and willingness to learn are critical as we are a small team who get on well and work to very high standards.

General duties to include;

• Mucking out

• Turning out/bringing in

• Tack cleaning

• Tacking up

• Feeding

• Filling hay nets

• Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming

• Bathing

• Rug changing

• Riding

• First aid

• Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)

• Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Some horse care experience required
Ability to complete essential skills in Maths & English
Full training provided through Haddon Training
Must love horses, be keen to learn, friendly and outgoing. Must be able to work on your own at times and use your initiative. Honesty, reliability and trustworthiness are a must.
Possibility of full time position on completion of apprenticeship
