Description
Pixies Childcare are looking for an apprentice who will share their enthusiasm for encouraging children’s autonomy whilst they grow and develop through carefully thought out experiences both inside and outdoors. The successful candidate will be supported and encouraged to be involved in all aspects of the day to day care and education of children.
Role includes the following duties:
•Supporting senior with daily routines in the setting; contributing to the health & safety, safeguarding children in the setting
•Supporting play & learning activities, providing care routines,
•Supporting with observations and planning for children's development progress, contributing and supporting nursery's activities and events, working while training to Level 2 or Level 3 in Children's Learning and Development (Early Years Educator)
•Adhere to all policies and procedures in the setting
•Supporting team to ensure Key Children's folders are up-to-date and observations are conducted on a daily basis.
•Attend staff meetings, parent’s evenings.
•To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time to meet the needs of the setting.
•Liaising with parents and carers
•Following Health and Safety at all times
•Working as part of a team to set-up the rooms and clear down at the end of the day
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Children’s & Young Persons Workforce Apprenticeship. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Hard working and keen to learn. Punctual and reliable. A good command of English both spoken and written.
Pass at GCSE in Maths and English, although you will be required to take functional skills tests in these subjects if necessary.
Level 2 Children and Young People's Workforce Apprenticeship
Each framework includes a diploma/certificate which shows the practical skills, a technical certificate to confirm the knowledge and understanding and Functional Skills in Maths and English.
You will be assessed throughout the apprenticeship and complete the qualification based on the competencies within your job role.
You will be assessed by a combination of observations, professional discussion, question and answer sessions and self-study which is required to confirm your knowledge and understanding of the career route you have chosen.
Caring and positive with a fun loving attitude. Willingness to get involved and not be afraid to get your hands dirty! Able to work as part of a team, as well as being confident to work or study by yourself if required.
With hard work and dedication, you will gain a full Early Years Qualification which will enable you to apply for a permanent position within the staff team at Pixies or elsewhere.
