Arcade game technicians provide mechanical and electronic services to coin-operated video games. They clean and transport the units and must make detailed and accurate diagnostics for any faults which make occur. A good understanding in electronic equipment technology is generally necessary for this career.
Blackpool South and Central piers are situated on Blackpool promenade. They are host to a number of attractions including arcades, rides, stalls, bars and clubs.

You will be expected to work towards gaining the skills and knowledge to be able to competently compete the following duties, to include but not exhaustive to:
Technicians require customer service and communication skills, since they will be working in varied places of business with machines owned by different people. Mathematics along a proficiency with tools is also needed. The position requires significant arm, hand and finger dexterity, coordination, near vision and control precision. Critical thinking, operations monitoring and decision making are also important skills Being able to work, days and nights along with weekends and all bank holidays.
A previous level 2 qualification in engineering is required.
GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications) in English and Maths is also required.
A full time position may become available upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Progression opportunities from this Apprenticeship include the HNC in Engineering in the apprentice's chosen specialism.
You will work towards the Level 3 (Advanced) Apprenticeship in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. This will include one day per week college attendance.
The focus of this apprenticeship is to develop your expertise in areas such as a technical contribution to either the design, development, manufacture, installation, operation or maintenance of products, equipment, processes and services. You will apply proven techniques to solve engineering problems.
Assessment consists of the following:
• Practical assessment for the NVQ covering Knowledge and skills
• A knowledge test and practical assessment
• An Employment Rights and Responsibilities Workbook
• English, Maths and ICT at Level 2.
You will attend college one day per week to learn the knowledge and practical aspects. Teaching and Assessment will also be delivered through online resources and on a 1-2-1 basis by your skills coach and employer.
Once you have submitted your application, you will need to complete college based online initial assessments and provide a CV before we can progress your application.
