Description
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain an accounting qualification while taking on increasing levels of responsibility. You will be supported by the Finance Bursar, who is an experienced Chartered Accountant. There is the opportunity to grow into the role, at the same time as gaining an understanding of all aspects of a busy Finance Department.
The work will include:
•Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly Reconciliations including VAT returns.
•Preparation of Cash flow forecasts for donations
•Agreeing and monitoring the budgets for School Residential Trips.
•Preparation of termly management accounts, monitoring expenditure on at least a monthly basis
•Preparation of Fee Income projections and Fee-bill Reconciliations
•Preparation and monitoring of monthly cash-flow forecasts
•Collating Annual Revenue and Capital Budgets
•Support budget-holders in preparation and monitoring of budgets
•Monthly reconciliations of Gross Pay, FTE and Salaries of Staff complement
•Reconciliation of Pension Costs and contributions
•Preparation of Staffing Budgets
•Assistance with the administration and monitoring of Means Tested Bursary awards
•Preparation of schedules for the annual audits of the Statutory accounts for the School and its eight active subsidiaries
•Providing cover for the other members of the Finance Team and the Finance Bursar as required.
•Providing financial information and support to budget-holders throughout the School.

- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Good analytical skills;
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel: Please give details in your application of the features that you use, and give examples of ways in which you have used Excel;
- 5 GCSEs grade A*-C including at least a B in Maths and a C English or equivalent qualifications.
- At least 18 months work experience in a finance role.
Desirable
- Hold AAT level 2 or 3, or a related accounting qualification;
- Experience of working with SAGE 200 software
As an Accounting Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Professional Accountancy Taxation Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship. Within the apprenticeship you will undertake either AAT/ACCA Level 4 professional qualification.
The apprenticeship will be completed at a BPP centre or via the Online Classroom platform, in addition to at the workplace.
