Description

Commis Chef required to work in a busy promenade hotel.

Responsibilities include assisting the head chef and kitchen team in all aspects of preparation, cooking and serving fresh food items to hotel residents in a friendly kitchen.

• preparing attractive menus to nutritional standards

• controlling and ordering stock and inspecting it on delivery

• gutting and preparing animals and fish for cooking

• scraping and washing large quantities of vegetables and salads

• cooking and presenting food creatively

• monitoring production to maintain quality and consistent portion sizes

• working under pressure to make sure food is served on time

• keeping to hygiene, health and safety and licensing rules

Hourly Rate:

Under 18 - £4.20

18 – 20 - £5.90

21-24 - £7.38

25+ - £7.83

No formal qualifications required

NVQ Level 2 Professional Cookery

Technical Certificate Level 2 in Professional Cookery

Functional Skills Level 1 in English and Maths

A full time position may be available upon completion of apprenticeship.
