Proprietor Keith with his team of experienced Personal Trainers at Morton's Personal Fitness, is committed to helping its members achieve great results in an atmosphere that is welcoming to all and has a fantastic opportunity to offer an apprentice the chance to join their dynamic team!

Morton's Personal Fitness members benefit from continuous personal training, advice and encouragement. Members are encouraged to join in group sessions. Our systems enable clients to reach their goals faster and the majority of our members renew their memberships year-after-year.

We are looking for a person passionate about fitness in the health club environment and someone who ideally has been attending a gym regularly for their own health and fitness. They need to be confident with people and be able to interact well with members of the public.

Job role duties will include;

• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect business assets.

• Welcome and acknowledge all members according to company standards.

• Speak with others using clear and professional language

• Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.

• Visually inspect equipment, or machines.

• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

• Wipe down gym machines and remove rubbish, and debris from the gym.

• Maintain an adequate supply of cups and water in recreation area.

• Clean fitness suite, changing areas, toilets

• Assist in Marketing and promotions

• You will also help existing members achieve fitness goals, and assist with sign up of new members

• Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure

• Work with clients to help them to adhere to exercise and physical activity

• Give diet and nutrition advice to members

• Plan and prepare, instruct and supervise gym-based exercise

• Leading group fitness sessions with clients

• Full Training will be given to cover the above duties

No formal qualifications required as full training and guidance will be given throughout your apprenticeship.

There may be the opportunity to achieve a L3 Personal Trainer qualification, however previously gained Level 2 Gym Instructing/Exercise and Fitness will be required in this circumstance.

Level 2 Exercise and Fitness Apprenticeship

Each framework includes a diploma/certificate which shows the practical skills, a technical certificate to confirm the knowledge and understanding and Functional Skills in Maths and English.

You will be assessed throughout the apprenticeship and complete the qualification based on the competencies within your job role.

You will be assessed by a combination of observations, professional discussion, question and answer sessions and self-study which is required to confirm your knowledge and understanding of the career route you have chosen.

• To be outgoing and sociable

This vacancy is for a permanent position within Morton's Personal Fitness Club, during which a L2 or L3 apprenticeship programme will be delivered. Following successful completion of the apprenticeship further qualifications may be available to you and an increase in weekly wage.
