Description
Polycover have an opportunity to join the team as an apprentice to assist in the production and learn the manufacturing process of making temporary protective packaging such as bags, sheets or covers.
You will be working towards gaining the knowledge and skills to be able to;
-
Have an awareness of the quality management system
- Measure and cut materials using tools provided
- Use sealing machinery
- Use sewing machinery
- Folding and packing
- Labelling
- Palletisation
- Strapping & Wrapping, including use of pallet wrapper
- Keeping job records
- Operating the pump truck
- Answering the phone and directing the call or taking reliable messages
- Keep working environment safe, clean and tidy
- Measure and document specification of samples for MD’s approval
- Other duties deemed necessary

You will work towards completing the Level 2 Engineering Apprenticeship in Performing Engineering Operations.
You will be trained within the workplace and attend college one day per week.
This apprenticeship may include completing Functional Skills in English, Maths and IT.
