Description

Apprentice Chef required to work in a private owned family business to work in a small kitchen team of 5 and being supervised by the Head Chef and the main Manager. Do not require any experience because full training will be available along with a level 2 qualification.

Must be keen to learn all aspects of the kitchen including all health and safety regulations, to attend all available course with the apprenticeship programme. Excellent time keeper, be able to work within the team rear of the house and front of the house have good knowledge of customer service. Will be learning all aspects of the kitchen regarding the different sections i.e. cold and hot starters, sauces, desserts, preparing and cooking of fresh fish, meat, poultry and vegetables.

Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.

Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.

Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.

GCSE Maths and English grade C would be desirable but not essential, because functional skills level one and level 2 will be delivered as part of your apprenticeship.

Once the Apprenticeship is completed will then be offered a full contract and then to progress to level 3 and also progress within the kitchen team and the company. An excellent opportunity for the right person Will gain knowledge on all food safety regulations, COSSH,PPE, RIDDOR and HACCP, site may increase hours to 35.
