Description

The apprentice will be responsible for answering IT support requests via phone, email or helpdesk and explaining solutions in technical and non-technical terms.  Main duties/responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Build, configure and upgrade desktop PC's Install Operating Systems and Application Software Troubleshoot and resolve problems with Operating Systems and Application software, including the corporate Office 365 Cloud email system Update and maintain the IT knowledge base. Update and maintain the IT hardware inventory system Provide Helpdesk support, including IT problem resolution, providing help and advice on application usage, printer setups, logging calls with third party maintenance companies and progress chasing outstanding calls Maintain and administer all IT consumables Basic trouble shooting for in-house / bespoke systems Assist in the technical support for the VoIP telephone system Conduct ad-hoc project work when required. Maintain and uphold the Company’s IT Security Policy Adhere to Company’s security policies and procedures Adhere to Company’s policies and procedures Perform any other duties as required

You will need to be:  A strong communicator who thrives on problem solving  Someone who takes pride in providing an excellent service to all users and departments An enthusiastic team player  Someone with an adaptable approach to work, who is always keen to learn new skills
You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent), including maths and English.
Level 3 Infrastructure Technician apprenticeship standard.Approximately 11% of training takes place in the QA learning centre classroom. 9% is done in the workplace, through online training, face-to-face meetings with your QA Technical Skills Coach, or developing your portfolio. The remaining time will be spent on your workplace activity.
