As a Business Administration Apprentice what will I be doing?

You will be project based in our Kier Office at Sedgehill School supporting many departments with administration requirements.

Main Duties:

• Tasks may include managing enquiries, payroll, purchasing, monitoring and reporting of work, invoicing and payments

• Maintain effective work systems, ensuring that all correspondence and documentation is dealt with in a professional manner to meet audit requirements

• Deal with all routine queries so that an appropriate response is provided

• Responding to all clients, residential and other enquires on the phone and via email in a professional manner with a high level of customer services

• Closing all enquiries within the service level agreement set to the business

• Organise events, travel, accommodation etc

• Support the Manager with ad hoc or project based administration To provide administration support

On this apprenticeship we would expect you to develop skills in:

• Working independently using your own initiative

• Understand safe working practices within the work environment

• Carry out a full range of business support activities

• Understand the business environment

On-site experience

In addition to the formal training programme you will receive hands on experience including mentoring and coaching from skilled members of the team.

GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English grades 9-4 (A-C) is desirable, however not essential.

Level 2 Diploma in Business and Administration plus Functional Skills and Technical Certificate if appropriate.

This apprenticeship is delivered through work based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college. The successful candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit on site every 4-6 weeks and deliver all of the training to gain the qualification and provide the resources to complete work between visits.

• You should also be honest, reliable and willing to learn

• You must be committed to completing this apprenticeship

Following on from the completion of your Level 2 qualification in Business Administration, you will progress on to complete an Advance Level 3 qualification in Business Administration.

Once you commence at Kier, further induction training will be supplied by Kier. You will also receive visits and other training from the Learning Skills Partnership representative.
