Description

1.To welcome visitors, ensuring signing in procedures are followed, to receive and prioritise incoming telephone calls and deal with them appropriately taking detailed messages as required.

2.To provide a professional and confidential administration service for the school including word processing of correspondence, weekly newsletter, reports, publications and other documents as required.

3.To sort, distribute and administer incoming and outgoing mail.

4.To help update all school records and files remain up-to-date and in accordance with Data Protection legislative requirements and to participate in maintaining backup systems.

5.To assist in maintaining pupil records appropriately ensuring confidentiality with such records.

6.To ensure the provision of administrative support in respect of timetables, registers and absences, lettings diary, post book, nursery, breakfast club, after school club, school meals, school events and outings, medical and dental visits.

7.To organise all arrangements for meetings as required.

8.To assist with office organisation including stock control of office stationery and consumables.

9.To ensure the processing of authorised orders in accordance with the agreed priorities and deadlines and in accordance with the working practices of the finance office.

10.To maintain and update the school’s social media presence, including website, Twitter and Facebook page as well as produce school electronic communications and operate parent communication services.

11.To be aware of and adhere to the school’s child protection policy and procedures, and to report any concerns under such procedures which may be observed during the course of duty.

12.To be aware of and adhere to applicable rules, regulations, legislation and procedures e.g. local (Equal Opportunities Policy/Code of Conduct) and national legislation (Health and Safety, Data Protection).

13.To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the School.

14.To provide administrative support to the school pupil support manager and school senco in their roles.

15.To undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post as required.

On successful completion of apprenticeship, there will be the opportunity of a permanent position.
St Dennis Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check and will be expected to provide two references. This is a term time job. You will be working on a daily basis with a variety of different people and students. You must be able to remain professional at all times. Hourly wage: £4.35 to £6.15 depending on age.
