Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship at the AMRC is a relevant pathway to a career within Colson X-Cel. Strong numeracy and communication skills

Advanced Apprenticeships entry requirements:
A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grades C/5 or above (or equivalent), including mathematics, English and science, technology, or engineering-related subject.
Applicants are required to successfully complete the AMRC and employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
Is reliable, with effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise
Willingness and ability to follow management directions to achieve results
Enthusiasm and desire to learn
Ability to work alone and part of a team
Interest in and has some experience of STEM related activities and experience either from school or work experience. Has a basic understanding of the concept of engineering manufacturing
Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail – has good hand to eye coordination (for working with small components)
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study.
One Friday per month you will return to your workplace.
After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study.
The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.
Completion of this apprenticeship is just the start of your career and can open the door to many more opportunities, such as Engineering Management and Project Engineering positions across a range of sectors.
