Description of Opportunity
Viridor are looking for a Level 3 Apprentice Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their team at their ERF in Ardley. As an Apprentice, you will be a member of the team that keep their advanced ERF plant operating.

Self motivated

Ability to use and learn software programmes (CMMS, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc).
A minimum of five GCSE's (or equivalent qualifications) at grade C (Grade 4-9) and above including English, Science and Maths.
Higher level qualifications would be an advantage.
Must have a full UK driving licence and the use of a car.
Interest in electronic or mechanical engineering
Knowledge of or keen to learn about power generation
Willing to work as part of a team, striving for continual improvement in minimising environmental Health & Safety risk at the ERF plant.
A flexible approach to ensure that vital work is achieved in a timely and accurate manner.
This is a varied role and may involve working at heights once fully trained, working outside occasionally, working with computers and working on a wide variety of systems at the Viridor plant including cranes, conveyors and pressure systems.
Must have a full UK driving licence and the use of a car.
This position will require response to plant and equipment breakdowns both during normal working hours and outside of normal working hours.
Potential progression to full time Mechanical Engineering Technician on site at Ardley or one of Viridor's other sites.
Following that the career path is to progress to Mechanical Engineer, overseeing all Mechanical Technicians and works on site.
