1st Year: Attend college full time Monday to Friday (During half terms attend work)
2nd to 4th year: attend college one day a work and 4 days at work between (Monday to Friday)
In years 3 to 4, there may be occasional requirements to work shift work at the Purfleet location in order to work alongside key individuals to learn the activities of their role or a particular part of the plant.
Working at heights or more confined spaces may be a requirement from time to time.
Occasional opportunities to work short period of times at other ADM locations, i.e. Erith (Kent) and Tilbury (Essex) in order to gain a broader knowledge of other sites.
The intention that successful apprentices, following their 4 year programme, will be appointed into a permanent Mechanical Maintenance Technician position.

Overview of Pura Foods Limited
Pura Foods is a purpose built state of the art customer focused speciality oil refinery and packaging facility in Purfleet, Essex. A speciality feed oil facility has recently been added allowing it to create bespoke blends for customer in the feed industry. Pura Foods refines and packs high quality liquid oils including rapeseed, high-oleic rapeseed, sunflower seed, high-oleic sunflower and winterized sunflower seed, as well as tropical oils including palm, palm derivates; olein, stearine, kernel, kernel stearine and coconut. Pura Foods blends and packs many of these oils into bespoke formulations and nutritional values that offer tailored solutions to the Bakery and Frying sectors.
