Description

The role will include general yard duties; mucking out, tacking up, cooling off horses, turning out, poo picking a making sure everything is running smoothly before the next client arrives, as well as hacking and school Dressage horses. You will be mentored from a professional rider, BD accredited coach and BD Wales Rep to guide you through your dressage career. At Penrhyd Dressage there are regular clinics with top GB’s Dressage trainers for you to observe and learn from as well as BD Competitions throughout the summer. We provide a huge insight into the World of Dressage. Megan Roberts, our main rider, has competed successfully in dressage from a young age both in the `national and international circuit. She has also worked at yards, both abroad and in England, therefore brings awareness of what it’s like to run a professional yard. She has coached many Young riders to win championships and now coaches for Welsh BD Teams, she is dedicated to sharing her knowledge on horsemanship of dressage. As we are expanding in 2021, we are looking for someone passionate, driven and above of all, hard working, to join our ever expanding and loyal team. No groom experience is necessary, however, riding experience is favourable as will provide the best opportunity for the right candidate. You must be good with people, as well as horses, as we have important clients coming in regularly and pride ourselves on customer service - a cup of tea and a smile goes a long way here!

General duties to include;

Mucking out Turning out/bringing in Tack cleaning Tacking up Feeding Filling hay nets Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming Bathing Rug changing Paddock maintenance Schooling Riding First aid Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.) Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Some Equine Experience is necessary
none required but ability to complete Essential Skills
