Description

Our track system is fully surfaced with a selection of stone, sand, astroturf and gravel. All of our 23 horses are barefoot , they live out 24-7 in their herd with constant low sugar meadow hay in slow feeders. We have a selection of part and full liveries and we have horses come here from all over the country to live.

Your average daily routine would be -

Making up feeds including medications bringing in singly or pairs from the track for breakfast picking out feet of full liveries spraying, packing holes, picking out tiny stones and making notes on any changes to the foot looking over each horse for injuries, bites, cuts etc and making a note changing rugs, or removing as needed turning back out driving quad to put hay out for the herd of horses in their boxes removing nets on boxes, removing old damp hay or if dry rotating it for the new hay underneath and replacing net. Returning hay trailer and sweeping out old hay ready for a new bale to be put in. Hitching up the tipping poop trailer and poop picking the track and barns, emptying trailer, wash off bike and trailer and return Sweeping up yard You will always be doing that with another staff member and full training will be given .

Tack cleaning Tacking up Giving evening feed to some full liveries Weighing horses on the weigh bridge and photographing. Filling hay nets Clipping/pulling (rake comb )/plaiting/trimming Bathing Riding First aid Exercising horses from the ground Holding for vet/trimmer/dentist Learning how to create and mend fences to best keep horses in. Riding available if capable and wanted
