Description of Opportunity

The objectives of this apprenticeship are to provide support with HR administration to ensure a high performing team and fast efficient service, ensuring full compliance with AECC University College standards and employment legislation. With good training and support, the main duties and responsibilities will be: To deliver a timely, accurate and customer focused service To provide administration support for all HR matters to a high-quality standard and within agreed timescales To take first line response to all phone queries and provide basic advice where appropriate To process letters, forms and reports in a timely manner To support people managers with basic queries on policies and processes To support the Administrators will the whole employee life cycle To monitor the HR helpdesk mailbox ensuring that emails are responded to in a timely manner or that the email is escalated to the appropriate team member. To advise managers on basic terms and conditions queries Identify and prioritise own workload to ensure that objectives are met Liaise with payroll in order to resolve and action any payroll queries To support the HR team with reviewing current processes and implementing ideas to improve our HR function Input and maintenance of data onto ITrent ensuring that all employee records are accurate and updated Assist in the day to day work of the team ensuring all case work is saved onto the employee’s Personnel folder and updated on ITrent Able to produce and manipulate excel and ITrent reports To attend meetings as note taker as required and to type up any meeting notes as required Ensure that the HR information on the ‘SIP’ is up to date and accurate To maintain confidentiality at all times and ensure that letters or forms do not breach data protection legislation To provide administrative support for the recruitment process from start to finish Ensure all internal HR processes and procedures are adhered to Undertake any other duties necessary for the effective operation of the department consistent with the nature of the post To demonstrate support for the University College’s commitment to equal opportunities and its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy; Health & Safety Policy and Procedures Any other duties as required

Experience working in an administration environment in a customer facing role and using Windows based applications such as Microsoft Office is essential The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and have the ability make pragmatic decisions and work to deadlines Good interpersonal and communication skills
The successful candidate for this role must have four GCSEs at C/4 and above or equivalent including maths and English.
