Description of Opportunity
This vacancy is for an Apprentice Business Administrator based in Blackpool, Lancashire. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience whilst gaining on the job qualifications.
To provide general clerical or administrative support to the school under the direction or instruction of senior staff.
Provide administrative support, following instructions or set routines e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, emailing, completion of routine forms, school meals.This could be directly supporting the Headteacher
Update manual and computerised records/management information systems.
Exchange of information with other school staff and teachers, senior leadership team, pupils, parents /carers, suppliers.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding procedures
Individuals in this role may also:
Undertake reception duties, act as first point of contact in response to telephone and face-to-face enquiries
Sign in visitors
Open, sort and distribute incoming mail and post outgoing mail
First point of contact for sick pupils, liaise with parents / carers / staff
Assist with arrangements for visits, for example by school nurse, photographer
Ensure collection of attendance registers
Responsible for the selection, ordering and storage of supplies under direction

Good time-keeping and attendance
A minimum of three GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including English – other equivalent qualifications are acceptable OR prior experience in business or administration role
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration, QCF(Functional Skills, Level 2 – maths, English – if not already achieved)Employer Rights and ResponsibilitiesPersonal Learning and Thinking Skills
The ability to work as an individual as well as part of a team and be respectful to team members at all times
Be an excellent communicator at all levels, via telephone and face to face. Be able to use their own initiative
