Description of Opportunity

This vacancy is for an Apprentice Business Administrator based in Nelson, Lancashire. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience whilst gaining on the job qualifications. The general administration duties within this role may include: Liaising with engineers to organise on-site visits Tracking Customers jobs and keeping all informed Dealing with Parts suppliers Issuing Invoices and supporting clients through the invoice process Taking daily initiatives to reduce costs and maximise profits throughout your work Providing office support including customer and employee support Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity Researching company data and archived reports Keeping computer databases up to date Interacting with clients either on the phone or in person Answering phones and connecting calls to the proper department Taking phone messages and passing them on Following up on business communications, billing, and ordering Communicating with materials suppliers and vendors Invoicing Using spreadsheets to track expenses and company spending Collecting and inputting company data Making travel arrangements for employees Learning about the company's mission and available products/services Building relationships with clients Sending faxes and emails Preparing documents by printing, copying, and binding Writing and editing company correspondence Collecting and sorting post Scheduling appointments and events Ordering office stationery and other supplies Preparing meeting rooms by setting up chairs and getting refreshments Participating in office meetings and taking meeting minutes Giving feedback on office efficiency and suggesting possible improvements Being ready for any other administrative tasks that are required

Good communication skills – both verbal and written. Good time-keeping and attendance
A minimum of three GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including English – other equivalent qualifications are acceptable OR prior experience in business or administration role.
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration, QCF(Functional Skills, Level 2 – maths, English – if not already achieved)Employee Rights and ResponsibilitiesPersonal Learning and Thinking Skills
The ability to work as an individual as well as part of a team and be respectful to team members at all times Be an excellent communicator at all levels, via telephone and face to face. Be able to use their own initiative
