Description
Hill
farm stables is a family run yard based in the scenic West Wight with some beautiful
countryside to explore with spectacular views of the beaches, river and the
Solent from both sides of the Needles.
They
have an amazing selection of 36 horses and ponies to cater for all ages and
abilities from the total beginner to the most experienced of riders with an arena and own xc course.
The yard offers a range of riding experiences from lessons and own a pony days to hacking and beach rides as well as being a Pony Club Centre.
They are looking for an enthusiastic new apprentices to join their team where there will be plenty of riding, both in the school and out in the countryside if capable.
General yard duties will be expected such as: Mucking out and bedding up and down, feeding and watering, turning out/bringing in, Paddock and yard maintenance and Tack cleaning and more specific duties of Helping occasionally with Pony Club Centre Member and Leading the lessons if an experienced rider although these are not daily tasks.
There may be space for you to take your own horse.

- Basic horse care knowledge is needed
- Confident handling horses
- Reliable with good time management skills
- Good communication skills as you will be interacting with members of the public.
GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
Contact Haddon Training to discuss if not yet achieved - Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills Maths and English
Full training through Haddon Training.
