Description
The main duties
include speaking to patients to direct their inquiries to the most appropriate
person, booking appointments, filing of notes and medical letters, dealing
requests from clinicians and general administrative duties. The role is
fast-paced and varied, and will suit candidates who are well-organised,
proactive and manage well under pressure. Reception staff will answer the
various incoming outside lines into reception and also the internal lines.
Additional Duties:
- Greeting patients when arriving at the practice
and ensure they are assisted appropriate
- Using EMIS to manage appointments and patient
records
- Booking appointments both on the day and routine
in accordance with practice protocol
- Dealing with telephone queries
- Dealing with queries via the practice website
- Process request for prescriptions, sick notes
and medical records
- Registering new patients and granting online
access
- Process change of patient details
- Receiving samples from patients in a safe manner
using Practice protocols and guidelines to minimise cross infection
- Assist with unlocking and locking the surgery
and ensure adherence to security procedures
- Dealing with post and electronic mail via
Docman
- Scanning documents as requested
- Any other administrative duties as required
