Description

We have a number of horses on the yard, 11 of which are stabled at night. All are either eventers, potential eventers or are youngsters here for backing/schooling/selling. They are all sport horses, requiring calm and confident handling. We also have young stock – foals and yearlings. Facilities: 10 turnout paddocks, outdoor arena, horse walker, 11 stables, wash bay & solarium, excellent hacking. We are a team of 5, four women and one man. Four live out. The day-to-day responsibilities for this job would be to assist with the below.

This position would suit someone with an interest in eventing. There are currently 14 horses on the yard requiring calm and confident handling.


Duties to include:

Mucking out

Tack cleaning

Tacking up

Feeding, clipping , pulling, plating, trimming, grooming, bathing

Rug changing

Exercising horses from the ground ( lunging, horses walker, long reining

Basic first aid

Holding for the vet/ farrier/ dentist

Riding opportunities

Travel to shows/ and outside training


In addition, there will be the requirement to be occasional travelling groom for events/competitions/outside training.
