Description of Opportunity

Hamiltons is a privately owned restaurant serving modern cuisine. On our site we have a cocktail bar, which serves our lunch & bar menu all day, and a 50-seater restaurant which serves our a la carte menu from 6pm. We also have a function room upstairs which we use for larger sit-down group bookings. Our dishes are based on local in season produce and prepared fresh to order. You will be expected to learn to mise en place as well as the cooking techniques required to produce our menu as well as help keep the kitchen clean and tidy as we work. A very important part of the running of our kitchen is the professionalism of our chefs which is an aspect we hold very highly and expect all staff to adhere to these professional standards.

Prior knowledge of hospitality will be very useful for you. Cooking experience is essential - the level of this will be assessed during your interview.

At the end of your apprenticeship, we aim to produce a chef with experience in all aspects of a modern kitchen including preparation of food, cooking, use of key equipment, hygiene standards and much more.
