Description of Opportunity

Louisa Lockwood is looking for someone that can ride reasonably well and is reasonably competent on the yard to work alongside her current groom.

There will be plenty of riding opportunities for the right candidate and chances to groom at competitions at home and abroad.

Opportunities for lessons and training on own horse, or possibly Louisa’s dependent on ability.

Lovely accommodation shared with two others with own room.

General duties to include;

•Mucking out •Turning out/bringing in •Tack cleaning •Tacking up •Feeding •Filling hay nets •Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming •Bathing •Rug changing •Paddock maintenance •Schooling •Riding •First aid •Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.) •Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

A competent rider is required to be able to hack out fit event horses.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training the equine apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
Someone that is cheerful, keen and willing to learn
Progression onto a Level 3 and potential full time employment.
There is accommodation and room for your own horse.
