Description

Harmony Equitation combines Horse Behaviour and Natural Biomechanics into a horse friendly, ethical training methodology that treats all horses as individuals and allows everyone to develop a deeper understanding of their horse, and training practices that prepare horse thoroughly whilst keeping them sound. We also offer rehabilitation and schooling services, apprentices will have the opportunity to help care for these horses and observe the rehab processes.

The apprenticeship at Harmony Equitation will include training in Natural Horsecare Practices, Natural Horsemanship techniques as well as and understanding of behaviour and science based equine learning theory, outside the day-to-day duties. This apprenticeship will particularly appeal to students who have a background or interest in Natural Horsemanship and Natural Horsecare Practices

The general duties, whilst working closely with experienced team members will be:

•Use of quad and trailer (full training given)

•Feeding / haying horses

•Filling hay nets

•Mucking out / poopicking

•Turning out/bringing in

•Tack cleaning

•Tacking up

•Rug changing

•Ridden work (under instruction/supervision)

•Hacking / fitness exercise •Basic first aid / bandaging

•Exercising horses from the ground

•Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
