Freshfields Equestrian Centre
Description of Opportunity
Freshfields Equestrian Centre is a busy livery and riding school in Market Drayton, Shropshire. The centre has been run by Tim for over 20 years and provides a fun and friendly atmosphere for all riders, owners and employees.
The yard provides lessons for all levels of riders with qualified BHS trainers and coaches as well as offering livery packages to suit all needs. The stables and yard are loving looked after and kept in tip top shape as well as having well maintained turnout fields and both and indoor and outdoor school.
The yard now have a position available for an equine apprentices to join them. Some basic horse knowledge would be needed due to the nature of the job however, full support would be given to improve your skills and knowledge alongside supporting the delivery of the apprenticeship programme.
Usual yard duties would include mucking out, feeding and watering the horses, turning out and bringing in, grooming, preparing horses and ponies for lessons, assisting with lessons (e.g. leading ponies), keeping the yard neat and tidy.
Space for own horse may be available.

- Some basic horse care knowledge
- Solid communication skills as you will be working with other team members and interacting with members of the public.
- Proactive and takes initiative to completing tasks.
- Tidy and organised
GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
Contact Haddon Training to discuss if not yet achieved - Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills Maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
