Description of Opportunity
Forest Green Equine is a professional showjumping yard run by Steven Franks who regularly competes throughout UK and Europe.
Steven is one of the countries most respected riders, having learnt his trade during a 6 year spell as stable jockey to William Funnell. Steven has competed and been placed at every national final at HOYS, placed in many international Grands Prix's, produced multiple Hickstead derby winners and represented GB at the World Breeding championships.
Steven now breeds and produces top class showjumping horses for sponsors / owners, from their purpose built facilities including offering training, competition and sales livery.
Facilities include large American barn style stables all with rubber mats and drinker, Large foaling boxes, Hot / Cold washroom with solarium 60m x 25m all weather arena, Covered 6 horse Monarch horsewalker, plenty of turnout paddocks and brilliant hacking..
The apprentice will work with a range of horses from youngsters to grand prix showjumpers there will be an abundance of work to get stuck in to and learn from one of the best!
General yard duties will be expected such as mucking out, feeding and filling nets, turning out/bringing in, tack cleaning, grooming including competition prep, Schooling and riding for the right candidate.
Would suit someone with an interest in showjumping with possibility of bringing own horse on livery.
5 day week to include weekends 7.30 until 5.30 including lunch & breaks.

GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
