Description of Opportunity

Receptionist: Reporting to The Front Office Manager the receptionist will provide good customer service and maintain high quality standards.

Duties will include

· Ensure all in house guest information is correct and up to date in the hotel’s PMS database,

· Allocating rooms in conjunction with the Reservations Department,

· To be aware of room status and ensure that the number of rooms available is known at any given time and that every opportunity to maximise room sales is taken,

· To ensure the reception area is always clean and tidy,

· To achieve a smooth operation by maintaining an efficient and effective filing system for all paperwork relating to guest stay and internal communication.

At the end of the 6-month placement the young person will be competent in

· The function and duties of a Hotel receptionist,

· Understanding of the in-house guest information process and is accurate on the company hotel’s PMS database,

· Presenting documentation and information relating to the operation clearly and accurately

· Able to allocate rooms in conjunction with the Reservations Department,

· Able to follow guest billing procedure and manage payment transactions,

· Able to operate internal booking system,

· The skills to handle complaints and ensure these are followed through,

· Maximise in house selling and be thoroughly familiar with all company selling procedures.

To be eligible for a Kickstart role you must:

-Be aged between 16 and 24

-Be in receipt of Universal Credit

Learning and Development will be provided via on the job training and e learning training sessions

There will be a requirement to attend regular 1-2-1 sessions with your line manager to support and develop your knowledge and understanding of your role and responsibilities.
