Description of Opportunity

Your main responsibilities which you will be supported to development toward being able to:


? To deal with customers in a friendly, professional manner.

? To wear the prescribed uniform at all times when on duty.

? To participate in any marketing/promotional activities.

? To ensure the comfort and safety of all users.

? Supervision of the facilities and maintenance of the equipment.

? To provide a reception service to users of Community facilities.

? To provide and serve light refreshments for sale to users of Community Facilities.


We actively use IT systems and you will be supported to development toward being able to:


? Input data into school information systems, produce appropriate reports and statistics in order to facilitate the best use of the services, resources and site.

? Collect, and receipt as required, all payments taken relating to the provision of community department services e.g. hire fees, swim charges, sale of equipment, sale of refreshments.


Safety is of paramount importance and you will be supported to development toward being able to:


? To maintain vigilant supervision of all Community facilities to ensure the safety of users at all times.

? To ensure that all users are using the facilities properly and safely.

? To comply with the school’s Health and Safety procedures at all times

? To carry out monitoring of all areas and report on any findings in the prescribed manner.

? To report any matters of concern to the Community Manager immediately.

? To ensure that high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout and to carry out any cleaning duties as necessary.

? To administer first aid (subject to appropriate training).

? Record all incidents in the Accident Report Book and report to the Community Manager.

? To assist in ensuring safety and welfare of all Community users

? To ensure that all equipment is stored cleanly, safely and securely when not in use.


Other Duties you should expect to work toward:


? Reacting to changing circumstances e.g. having to change a venue at short notice, liaising with colleagues as necessary.

? Report concerns to the Community team. ? Regular liaison with hirers in respect of bookings and hire terms and conditions.

? Public –To assist with general enquiries to include telephone, email and in person. To deal with any confrontational situations appropriately. Actively promote Community facilities.

? Suppliers – to report any maintenance requirements as required.

? Finance staff – to liaise regarding income received from hirers and refreshment sales.

? Estates Staff – to liaise regarding the use of the Community facilities and any cleaning/maintenance requirements.

? Teaching and learning staff – to liaise regarding the school use of facilities e.g. exams, parent evenings etc.

? Carry out such duties as may be reasonably allocated within the scope of this post by the School Leadership or Community Manager.

? To be keen to play a positive part in the life of the GFM Community, supporting its distinctive mission and ethos, and encouraging and ensuring staff, pupils and students adhere to school expectations.

? Such other duties as may reasonably be allocated by the Headteacher or senior colleagues
