Description

Chelwood Equestrian is a large training facility built to Olympic specifications, and accommodated the Swedish Olympic team during London 2012. Offering full livery, running dressage and eventing clinics as well as hosting leading trainers throughout the year.

The Livery yard has a variety of horses competing in dressage/show jumping/eventing – ranging from 4yo to 19yo. Regular visits from top class trainers, and opportunity for some riding and to come to events for the right candidate.

We are looking for a happy, friendly enthusiastic team member to join our exciting team who wants to learn all aspects of life working on a high end livery yard, how to handle horses, clients and other staff. The role includes all the normal such as mucking out, grooming, tack cleaning as well as competition preparation and grooming.

At Chelwood we have amazing facilities, indoor school, large outdoor jumping and outdoor dressage and in total 4 yards, one of which is mine. We currently have 14 horses, 3 of mine all show jumpers 1 staff horse and the rest are liveries training on the yard and ridden is given by myself and a previous Haddon apprentice.

An excellent opportunity for someone to also learn more about showjumping and dressage as training will also be given walking courses, distances, different jumping lines as well as flat work both how to ride a test and school to improve a horses way of going in general and for showjumping & dressage.

There is the possibility of accommodation and space on livery for you own horse but will be discussed on an individual basis.

Tuesday - Saturday, 8am - 5pm with lunch and tea & biscuit breaks!

GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.

Having been in the business most of my life I can offer guidance as to where their next step may be and introductions onto other yards for a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship or full time work. Possible future employment with me or on another yard at chelwood.

Extra training will also be given walking courses, distances, different jumping lines. Flat work both how to ride a test and school generally. Accommodation and livery possible
