Description of Opportunity

As a Customer Service Apprentice what will you be doing?

The successful applicant will work within our sales & estimating team following up and seeking new enquiries. The successful applicant will also undertake a Level 3 Customer Service qualification.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Follow up enquiries
  • Communicate with customers
  • Seek out new enquiries
  • Provide support for the sales and estimating team
  • Populate Excel reports
  • Raise quotations
  • Assist with transport administration
  • Provide switchboard cover
  • Provide general administrative support to on-site management on a daily basis
  • Ensure that work areas are maintained in a clean and tidy state
  • Fulfil the obligations of the Apprenticeship programme
  • Support the on-going development of F P McCann’s position in its key sectors
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies including Health & Safety

  • Excellent computer skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office in particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent organiser, able to prioritise workload with good time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
  • Strong numerical skills
  • A creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work on own initiative, but understand level of responsibility within the team
  • Ability to work confidentially and to treat issues with sensitivity
  • Ability to work to a high level of accuracy

  • GCSE English, Maths and ICT equivalent to Grade 4 or above.

Customer Service Specialist Level 3

This apprenticeship programme is delivered with a blended learning approach and includes a mixture of onsite tutor visits and online tutor led sessions. All delivery is completed in the workplace and you will not need to attend any off-site training.

  • Have some experience in sales/customer service

This is very much the start of an exciting career in the construction industry with wide ranging prospects which may span a number of roles. Please note that the wage does vary depending on age, see further details below: Candidates aged 16-17 £4.62 per hour (£173.25 per week) Candidates aged 18-20 £6.56 per hour (£246 per week) Candidates aged 21- 22 £8.36 per hour (£313.50 per week) Candidates aged 23+ £8.91 per hour (£334.12 per week). These hourly rates are significantly higher the National Apprenticeship Rate and would continue to increase as you are progressing within this exciting company.
