following is an outline of the range of duties that can be expected of a member
of staff in the above post. It is not a
comprehensive or exclusive list and duties may be varied from time to time,
according to the needs of the school and the children, without changing the
general character of the job or the level of responsibility entailed.
Main
Duties / Responsibilities
· Assist the
Catering Manager with the storage & control of food deliveries.
· Assist in
the preparation & serving of food & beverages for a variety of
functions.
· Maintain
a clean work environment at all times.
· Adhere to
food hygiene, fire, health and safety regulations.
· Work
within a team to support the smooth running of the café & training kitchen.
· Support
pupils in the training kitchen environment & with their learning
· Ensure
that all food leaving the kitchen is of a high standard & hot.
· Liaise
with other school & catering staff where appropriate.
· Maintain
a high standard of customer care at all times & contribute to the welcoming
atmosphere of the café.
· Wash and dry kitchen pots/utensils and ensure their proper
storage.
· As you progress to assist with menu development.

Level 2 Team Member Apprenticeship Standard
Level 1 Functional Skills in maths and English if required
After successful completion you could go on to study at a higher level or work towards becoming a hospitality supervisor.
Hours
•Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm over the school term. Post holder will be required to work some weekends and after school to cover parties and other events held at the café.
•The post holder will be expected to attend Twilight Sessions, 2 per term 4pm to 6.30pm and staff training days. There will also be employer and parent events to attend also.
16-17 year olds £4.62 per hour
18-20 year olds £6.56 per hour
21 -24 year olds£8.36 per hour
25+ £8.91 per hour
