Description

We are looking for an apprentice to work with a variety of ages from birth to 5 years, be part of the curricular team to progress children’s learning & development needs and meet the standards required by the Early Years Foundation Stage

Some of your responsibilities will include;

  • Take all reasonable steps to provide a safe and secure environment for all our children at all times.
  • Be familiar with our nursery policies and procedures and adhere to them at all times.
  • To learn and gain an understanding of the EYFS.
  • To support other staff members to meet the children’s needs by providing physical care. This will include helping children when eating and drinking, supporting opportunities for children’s exercise and quiet periods, washing and changing children as required and recognising when children are unwell.
  • To support other staff members to help children to be confident by supporting their social and emotional development.
  • To help staff prepare and maintain the nursery for children by organising, setting out and clearing away activities and equipment.
  • Work alongside, and with, parents of special needs children to enable full integration into Little Ones Childcare and to help to ensure the provision of a high quality, professional environment that meets the needs of all individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and at all stages of development, without distinction or exception.

  • General interest in working within an early Years environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Team player, willingness to participate in Vocational training programmes and can satisfy Criminal Records Bureau checks

Maths and English GCSE grade 4 or above (A-D) or equivalent

Level 2 Certificate in Children’s Workforce, Paediatric First Aid Qualification, training in Basic Food Hygiene, Manual Handling, Health and Safety, and Nutrition and Healthy eating. College sessions covering the theory and underpinning knowledge you require within your job.

You will also complete the Early Years Induction Standards to ensure you are aware of your role and responsibilities as an employee, and Functional Skills (English, maths ) where not exempt
