Description of Opportunity
We have a dynamic and forward-thinking management team in place, and we are looking for a trainee person to be part of that team and to help us reach our goals of offering exceptional service through our food and beverage business.
If you are open, friendly, and welcoming with an interest in hospitality professionally, with an eye for detail, and want to learn how to lead a team, we would love to meet you.
You will work closely with the management team and work to help set us apart as a business and grow. You will gain an understanding of an independent busy work environment, an appreciation for small independent producers, wood-fired cooking, ethical produce, seasonality in food, sales in an f&b environment.
Personality and professionalism are key in this role, and we are happy to work together to support the right person in developing their skills. FoH skills can set you up for life I your chosen career, many are transferable to alternative careers working people, as well as within the events and management fields and f&b businesses!
The candidate will start with basic levels of responsibility, such as simply serving food, clearing the tables, and preparing for the day, in a busy environment and large restaurant space. Increasing the responsibility to organizing and prioritising tasks with initiative, taking orders on our ordering system, running a section of the restaurant, assisting with the smooth running of the day, including, developing customer-facing service skills, ensuring that guidelines are followed. Communicating with team members. Cash handling.
We have a strong commitment to our food community and the environment, near and far. We offer an equal share of tronc tips.
We open Wednesday to Sunday with 21 days holiday a year pro-rata, with Christmas off.

Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship
Keen to learn, happy to be in team, interest in people, self-motivated. Friendly whilst conscious of work-load and responsibilities, courteous, affable.
We offer a range of front of house management roles within the restaurant. Once you are competent in a head waiter position and show initiative for more, then training for team leader or front of house assistant, management type roles can be discussed.
Driving license, as the location is rural, otherwise you will have to walk from the nearest bus on the Tiverton route, or live locally /with a reliable lift.
This is a physical on your feet all day kind of job, it requires all day and fast paced stamina at varying levels through the day.
