Description
Thornes Lane Café are looking for an apprentice to join a fast paced café, gaining valuable skills and experience such as Barista skills, chef, customer care. Just to name a few as well as gaining a Level 2 qualification in Hospitality!
Duties required in this role as follows:
Prepare hot and cold food in the kitchen area
Cleaning down the kitchen and prep areas as and when required
Follow hygiene and safety procedures
Ensuring excellent & professional guest service is consistently provided at all times
Knowledge of all food and beverage offerings in the restaurant and bar
Taking orders for tables and delivering food and beverages
Communicating & liaising with team members, kitchen & other areas of the operation

The role of Apprentice hospitality team member is to provide support to the entire team and complete general day to day duties within the hospitality sector.

Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Standard:Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the apprentice’s chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, one to one training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
