Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice receptionist to join our friendly team at Durrant House Hotel.
The role will involve working on our reception desk, assisting our guests in person, by phone, and e-mail.
As part of your daily duties you will book guests onto the booking system. You will also assist with the arrival and departure of guests, ensuring all outstanding balances are paid.
As part of your role, you will be required to take payments by cash and card from guests. You will be responsible for ensuring that all deposits and payments balance at the end of your shift.
Other duties to include:
- Checking guests in and out
- Dealing with telephone enquiries
- Preparing bills and processing payments
- Liaising with other departments within the hotel
- Provide local information to the guests
- Assisting with food and beverage service when required
- Working in the gifts shop when required

•Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Specialising in Reception ApprenticeshipApprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the apprentices chosen career route.Each standard has set knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to be successful within the job role.This will include the completion of Functional Skills in English and maths where applicable.Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12-months training, and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard, they will be put through to End Point Assessment.The End Point Assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.Each apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face-to-face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the End Point Assessment.
