Greenacres Tavern have an opportunity for an Apprentice to come and join our catering team!
You must enjoy working in a fast paced environment, you will be given lots of time to learn but you must be dedicated and be willing to work hard. You need to have a keen interest in working in a busy kitchen environment and be dedicated to completing your Apprenticeship
Preparing, cooking and serving a wide range of food items / dishesCleaning of work areasSet up and close down of work areasMaintaining health and safety in the work areaMaintaining food safety in all aspects of job roleMaintaining workplace recordsCorrect use of stock and equipmentReceiving and correctly storing deliveriesYou will also be required to keep up-to-date with all Apprenticeship work, and to have regular one to one meetings (every 4-6 weeks) with the Regional Trainer to discuss your work.

GCSE grade 9-4 (A*-C) in English and maths, or equivalent qualifications.
As an Apprentice you will be included on a L2 Production Chef Apprenticeship.This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and EnglishApprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role.Once the Apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the Apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
