Our Training combines academic study and on the job
experience. Fully mentored, by a Manager, you will have the opportunity to gain
valuable practical experience from day one. A system of continuous feedback and
on the job training on a one to one basis ensures that you make steady
progress, building on your experience from one assignment to the next.
Starting with the AAT levels you will progress to
study for your ACCA qualification if successful.In the office, you will start
with developing your basic accounts preparation skills. Before moving on to
develop more complex accounts Tax returns and audit.
You will
also have the opportunity to develop specialist areas of expertise in
individual and company taxation and the production of Payroll for clients’
employees as well as:
- Developing skills in the art of book-keeping.
- Accounts
preparation.
- Using fully computerised systems.
These roles will be carried out
on a daily basis as well as helping the team with general administrative tasks
of chasing clients for their records and information in order to meet important
statutory deadlines and other similar tasks such as taxation reminders.
You will be taught all aspects of different
business types and the taxation advantages and disadvantages of each type of
business.
You will be taught how to
construct information from incomplete records, books of prime entry and from
computerised systems and compile them into statutory information for the
client, HMRC and Companies House.

Good working knowledge of:

Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2
This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in accounting and finance. Their work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry.
Learners will complete the mandatory AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. The Certificate in Accounting comprises of four exams and an End Point Assessment. You must successfully complete the following:
Introduction to Bookkeeping (ITBK)
Principles of Bookkeeping Control (POBC)
Principles of Costing (PCTN)
Business Environment (BESY)
EPA - In Tray exercise
Training will be provided by attending either face-to-face classroom based lessons, Live Online sessions or OnDemand. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of your time towards it.

- An enthusiastic approach to talking to clients and other organisation both face to face and on the telephone.
- An ability to stay calm when deadlines are approaching and to remain happy during busy work times.
