Description

Underhill Farm based in the Gloucestershire countryside, is where Emma Slater's showjumping yard is based, close the the M5 so easily accessible and within easy reach of many competition centres.

Emma herself has many years of experience within the showjumping world having trained in America and Germany as well as riding and competing for a number of European yards including competing for GB on the Nations Cup team. Emma now spends her time producing and competing on the National circuit with a number of horses in her team. When not competing, she coaches a range of riders being a BS Level 3 coach as well as being a coach assessor for British Showjumping.

As an apprentice working with Emma you will be fully supported in developing your knowledge, skills and behaviours to assist you in achieving your qualification. You will be able to travel to groom at local shows with the opportunity to assist with stay away shows if interested.

The yard has many young, fit competition horses including a stallion therefore it is essential the the candidate be confident and have experience of handling such types of horse.

You will be expected to undertake all usual yard duties including field and arena maintenance and you will be working outside so must be willing and motivated even in cold wet weather!

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and have a passion to work within the equine industry. An interest in Showjumping would be desirable however, this is not essential as long as you enjoy working with horses, have high expectations of yourself and are competent and confident working with competition horses.

There is the option of bringing your own horse on livery if needed.
