Do you want to make a difference? Do you like working in a fast paced environment? This role is the first step into the warehousing sector of the food and drink industry. As a warehouse operative, you will develop the skills and knowledge to ensure our food products are stored safely and securely. Stock is picked correctly, rotated as required and loaded/unloaded onto the correct vehicles. You will develop a solid grounding in most aspects of warehousing including working with machinery keeping compliant with health and safety processes to keep yourself and your colleagues safe.

Description of Opportunity

This is an entry level opportunity within our distribution facility. The role will support the team leader in all areas of warehouse operation and ensure our supply chain is maintained and product is delivered to our customers in time and product integrity maintained.

Responsibilities include:

Order Picking.

Ensuring correct rotation of food stocks maintained.

Advise team leader on any shortages.

Loading and unloading lorries.

Completing paperwork accurately and promptly and ensuring computerised records are also maintained and uptodate.

Following health and safety rules and guidelines at all times and reporting any concerns to the team leader or manager immediately.

Keep the work area clean and tidy and ensure any spillages are cleaned as soon as they happen.

Working as part of a team and communicating effectively with others is an important part of the role.

The role will include the need to work outside and to work in a cold store as required throughout the working day.

Full training will be provided for every aspect of the job role. The role will provide the opportunity to obtain a good understanding of warehousing and distribution and the career opportunities that exist in this and the wider food manufacturing sector.

This is an entry level role. It is expected that the individual will be motivated and keen to learn new skills and to participate fully in the apprenticeship to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviour. A good level of English is expected to communicate effectively and to contribute to teamwork. A good level of numeracy will also be essential in this role.


You will receive a full company induction and training on all aspects of the role that you are covering.

The apprenticeship programme will begin after successful completion of the probation period which is 12 weeks.
