Description of Opportunity
Job Purpose -
To develop towards
being able to work on and advise on all aspects of tax within the estate
administration process. Including; Inheritance Tax (IHT), Capital Gains Tax
(CGT) and Income Tax.
- Collate, review and calculate the income paid in the tax year to date of
- Collate, review and calculate the income paid in the period of
- Report any income tax and CGT calculations to HMRC
- Review disposal of assets during the estate administration process to
establish if any CGT needs to be paid
- Review estates to establish if any Inheritance tax is payable
considering exemptions and allowances
- Complete the relevant IHT forms for submission at HMRC

The ATT syllabus follows a modular structure, which consists of two core certificate papers and four optional certificate papers, allowing you to specialise in your own area of interest or expertise.
To apply for full ATT membership, you must pass the two core papers, one of the four optional papers and the three computer-based exams (Law, Professional Responsibilities & Ethics and Accounting), plus have two years of practical work experience in UK taxation.
