Description

As a chef apprentice, you will learn all stages of food production, including butchery and fish preparation skills, as well as dessert and pastry making. The Head Chef is a Rosette awarded chef who loves teaching and developing young chefs.

The kitchen is a busy operation offering food service to Golf Club Members, Hotel Guests and Visitors, as well as catering services to small and large functions. We are delivering high-quality food prepared from scratch by our team of talented chefs.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items as directed by the Sous Chef and/or Executive Head Chef

· Assist in the development and planning of menus, including identifying future food trends and displaying a passionate approach towards the development of new styles of service and concepts

· Assist with stock-taking, when required

· Contribute towards the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen-Client Service

· Ensure that customers are given prompt and efficient service and expectations are consistently exceeded

· Be customer focused at all times; approachable and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling customer needs
People

· Assist team members when required Financial Management

· Gain an understanding of food costing, sales mix, and menu planning

· Ensure stock, deliveries and wastage are all checked and recorded in line with company and food standards

· Adhere to the companys Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and Environmental policies at all times

  • The candidate must be customer-oriented and understand the principles of good customer service.

  • Secondary education - food-related qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Previous cooking experience would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen/with chefs would be beneficial.
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene.

Full government recognised qualifications will be achieved and also full hygiene and health and safety qualifications with certificates achieved.
