Description of Opportunity

As a Customer Service Apprentice what will you be doing?

To work within the team, providing support to our external sales and internal estimating teams including the logging of customer enquiries, liaising with customers by telephone regarding quotations (products / prices offered) and providing feedback to our sales and estimating team.

You will work in the sales and estimating team under the support and supervision of a dedicated mentor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THE SHORT TERM?

Initially you will spend time learning about the products we manufacture and sell

When you are confident with the products you will be shown how to log our customer enquiries (a request for FP McCann product).

You will then be shown how we follow up quotations (our product offering and price) by telephone and how we log these calls on our bespoke software (CRM). This will be done under the supervision of your mentor.

You will also attend a day release course to broaden your knowledge and skillset.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THE LONGER TERM?

As you become more experienced in the role, you will be responsible for new enquires received in the flooring department and you will start to take ownership of multiple enquires/ quotations working alongside our external sales team in a bid to secure new orders for the business. Whilst less reliant, you will still have the support of your mentor.

You will also be introduced to other areas of the department with involvement in estimating, planning and production to broaden your overall knowledge.

  • Good communication skills

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, Grades 9 - 4 inclusive of Maths and English.
  • A valid driving licence with access to a car. Unfortunately public transport is not practical to the Weston Underwood site.

Customer Service Specialist Level 3

This apprenticeship programme is delivered with a blended learning approach and includes a mixture of onsite tutor visits and online tutor led sessions. All delivery is completed in the workplace and you will not need to attend any off-site training.

This is very much the start of an exciting career in the construction industry with wide ranging prospects which may span a number of roles. Please note that the wage does vary depending on age, see further details below: Candidates aged 16-17 £4.62 per hour (£173.25 per week) Candidates aged 18-20 £6.56 per hour (£246 per week) Candidates aged 21- 22 £8.36 per hour (£313.50 per week) Candidates aged 23+ £8.91 per hour (£334.12 per week). These hourly rates are significantly higher the National Apprenticeship Rate and would continue to increase as you are progressing within this exciting company. Travel - A valid driving licence with access to a car. Unfortunately public transport is not practical to the Weston Underwood site.
