Description of Opportunity
As an Apprentice CAD Technician what will I be doing?
The role will involve a wide variety of experience working within an office based team focusing on precast concrete floor and stair general arrangements and sections.
Key Responsibilities, which you will learn as part of the apprenticeship:
•Utilising AutoCAD and in house software to detail precast concrete floor and stair general arrangements and sections.
•Designing of precast concrete floor and stair elements.
•Managing multiple contracts and prioritising work load.
•Liaising with internal and external clients to ensure the smooth transition of the design from order to manufacture.
•Ensuring the designs are in line with the latest construction and building standards and regulations.
•Attendance and completion of a construction/ engineering based qualification on a day release course.
•Ensure work is carried out to the highest standard and in the interest of the company.
•Ensure compliance with the company’s policies including Health & Safety.
•Observe and comply with all good working practices.
In addition to the apprenticeship training you will receive hands on experience including mentoring and coaching from experienced members of the team. On this apprenticeship programme you will learn a range of skills.

•Excellent computer skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particularly Excel and an interest in CAD
•Methodical Approach to solving queries
•Good time management skills
•Ability to prioritise work and manage a number of tasks concurrently
•Ability to work on own initiative but understand level of responsibility within the team
•Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
•Ability to interact with a wide range of people
•Be highly motivated
•Experience of design software (TEKLA/REVIT/CAD) (Desirable)
•Hold a valid driving license (Due to the nature of the role)
Minimum of 5 GCSEs, Grades 9-4 inclusive of Maths, English and Science
Civil Engineering Technician Level 3
•Generally to be willing, helpful, enthusiastic and flexible
•Commitment and enthusiasm for and positive approach to this specific area of work
•Flexible approach and willingness to be reactive working in a fast paced environment
